Connecting Colorado Neighbors-The Foerster Team: Purple Isn't My Favorite Color, But I'm Learning To Love It!

Purple Isn't My Favorite Color, But I'm Learning To Love It!

Purple Isn’t My Favorite Color, But I’m Learning To Love It!

I’m raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association and their trademark color is…you guessed it…PURPLE! I am now finding myself attracted to PURPLE everywhere I turn! I have purple pen, I’ve even purchased some purple clothes!

In 2013, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk raised over $800,000. This year’s goal is ONE MILLION! Please consider being a part of this effort to raise awareness and provide much needed research to support those impacted by this devastating disease.

How can you get involved? There are many ways. Here’s one:

Purchase Tickets for Elitch Gardens!

Buy discounted admission tickets for Elitch Gardens amusement park by clicking on this link. You’ll pay $32.99 (a savings of $13) and $5 of every ticket funds education, counseling, 24 hour Helpline, support and research to find a cure.

For more ways to get involved, increase awareness and raise funds, stay tuned to this blog!

I love it, Donna.  I spent quite a few years working in a retirement community and got to know many people suffering from Alzheimers, this is a really great cause.

Hi John~ We've been volunteering for the Memory Walk for 15 or so years. I've blogged about it before, but plan to do much more this year!

Good post and way to help gain awareness of this. I have known friends whose parents had this and it was devastating to think of someone who raised you a lifetime doesnt even know who you are!

Very sad

Donna-we need to focus more attention on Alzheimers because it has touched so many of us.   Purple is my favorite color!

David~ My paternal grandmother had Alzheimers and that's what inspired us to get involved.

Kathy~ This cause is near and dear to my heart. That's why we are such strong supporters.

Purple is a regal color and I'm glad you are now a purple ambassador for a worthy cause.  My client's mother, a young 66, was diagnosed with Alzheimers and her rapid decline is painful for all.  You're doing good work!

Thank you Norma. If it will make a difference, I'll wear purple head to toe! I'll be posting something every few days to begin to build awareness for our 2014 Memory Walk which takes place in September.

Thanks Noah. The first year we walked and since then we've been volunteering for registration. This is our first year on the planning committee. We are the recruitment sub-committee.

Purple is a fascinating color. They say that purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment.

Inna~ Hmmm. I just know that it's the color the Alzheimer's Association is using and that makes it important in my book!
