Walk to End Alzheimer's: Join Us 2014

Everyone has a reason to END Alzheimer's. To honor you Mom. For your child's future. For your friends. For your spouse. For the 60,000+ Coloradans living with the disease.

How are you touched by Alzheimer's? My paternal grandmother who lived in Florida was diagnosed in the 90s with Alzheimer's. She steadily declined and we lost her to the disease. Being so far away, and being able to help her directly, I felt that walking and volunteering for the Association was a way I could make a difference. Rich and I have been volunteering for 15+ years!

In 2013, the Denver Memory Walk raised over $800,000. The goal for 2014? 1 Million Dollars! We can do it with your help! If you are part of a team, focus your efforts on new fundraising ideas. If you've never walked before, start a team and recruit other new walkers. An amazing 60% of the monies raised in Colorado, stay in Colorado!

Did you know??? The services offered by the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association are FREE to those living with the disease and their families. The Association offers a 24-hour Helpline (800.272.3900) classes, support groups, and other resources.

There are 10 walks scheduled for 2014. The Denver Memory Walk is Saturday, September 20th at Denver City Park. Registration begins at 7am, the Run begins at 8am and the Walk begins at 9am. The route length is 5K. Please click on this link to register.
