Polar Plunge on New Year's Day at the Boulder Reservoir
The Alzheimer's organization is a charity that is near and dear to our hearts. Every year in September Rich and I volunteer for registration at the Memory Walk in Denver City Park.
The Alzheimer's Association of Colorado holds fundraising events throughout the year. One of the most unique is coming in January, so mark your calendars!
The Young Professionals Alzheimer's Assocation of Colorado (YPAAC) will host the Polar Plunge into the icy waters of the Boulder Reservoir on New Year's Day, January 1, 2011. Registration begins at 10am and the plunge starts at 11:30am.
Online registration is $25 for adults (18 years and older) and $20 for children and teens (17 years and younger). All participants will receive a 2011 Polar Plunge long-sleeve t-shirt and a commerative Plunge certificate. (They also get a warm up in the hot tubs!)
Don't miss out on the fun of the costume contest! Winners will be moved to the front of the plunge line. Top fundraising individuals and teams will also move to the front of the line!
All spectators and participants will enjoy warm refreshments, delicious food, music and commentary by KBCO 97.3FM.
Monies raised will support Alzheimer education, counseling, support groups and a 24 hour Helpline provided by the Association, as well as funding for research.
The Boulder Reservoir is located at 5565 N. 51st Street, Boulder, CO 80301.
