Cranberry (and cream cheese) Dip
The Super Bowl is less than 5 weeks away. Time to start planning your party menu! I've never actually hosted a Super Bowl party, but I've attended my fair share. For the most part, finger foods are a "fan" favorite. This week I plan to share various dip recipes.
I found today's recipe, Cranberry Dip, at Allrecipes.com. If you are looking for a good recipe, this is the place to go!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ready In: 8 hours, 25 minutes (basically overnight)
Servings: 32
Ingredients:
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
1 cup white sugar
1 cup apricot jam
1 cup chopped pecan
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Combine cranberries with sugar in a 2 quart baking dishe with a lid, stirring well to coat all berries. Bake in preheated oven, covered, for about 30 minutes, until the cranberries pop and release their liquid.
3. Remove from oven and stir in the apricot jam and pecans. Refrigerate overnight to blend the flavors. To serve, allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature, and pour dip over the block of cream cheese on a serving dish. Serve wit;h buttery round crackers of small pretzels.
I think the timing of sharing the soup recipes was right on target last week. The COLD weather is here. If you missed any of last week recipes, here's a list complete with links. Enjoy and keep warm!
