Pay It Forward: Supporting a Local Youth Band
It's pretty common place to support the children of your adult friends and family members. You buy a variety of items to help with school fundraisers, you purchase girl scout cookies and boy scout popcorn, you attend sporting events and dance recitals.
My good friend Nanci has two sons who happen to be in a band with another teenager from their neighborhood. We've heard them play at Nanci's house and we enjoy their enthusiasm and their music. Recently they had a chance to play at an open mic night at a local bar and grill, and of course, we were there. According to their Fan Page on Facebook, they are a "young, local, alternative/pop-punk band".
We want to help Alex, Carter and Stone to achieve their dreams. The band is currently selling t-shirts to raise funds for equipment. (Such the entrepeneurs!) We've placed our order!
In May, the boys will be performing LIVE at the Ducky Derby. What's a Ducky Derby you ask? Great question. The derby is the largest annual fundraiser for the local Rotary Clubs of Castle Rock, Colorado, but this post isn't about the derby, it's about the band. If you want to learn about the derby, you'll have watch this blogsite for information.
If you are interesting in learning more about Flinch ~ the band, please visit their Facebook Fan Page! You can even listen to one of their songs (written by Alex).
