My Personal Top 10 Favorite Things About Summer

My Personal Top 10 Favorite Things About Summer

Every season brings with it special things that we associate with that time of year. In the Fall, kids go back to school and life gets back in to a routine of activities. In the Winter, we are planning for the holidays and spending time with family and loved ones. In the Spring, we are excited about the warmer weather and Mother Nature waking up from a long winter's nap.

Although Spring is my favorite time of year, there are many things about Summer that I also enjoy. Here's my personal top 10 favorite things about Summer. Maybe you like some of the same.

10. Movies and concerts in the park
  9. Festivals
  8. Sitting outside and reading a good book
  7. Gardening*
  6. Eating watermelon and corn on the cob
  5. Going to the pool
  4. Having a picnic
  3. Driving with my windows open and a great song on the radio
  2. Outdoor parties and BBQs with family and friends
  1. Spending time with our grandchildren, now that school is out!

Of course, the best thing would be to spend the day with our kids and grandkids, having an BBQ, eating watermelon and corn on the cob after spending the day at the pool! Let's see, I think I got at least 4 of my favorites in just one day!

*Gardening was the #1 item on my Spring list. I love to spend the time planting and preparing for the Spring and Summer months by adding color all around our house (in containers). However, during the Summer there is still "maintenance" to be done and watering, so it's still on the list, just not #1! LOL!

What's on your top 10 list?
