I Had To Do Something!

I Had To Do Something!

You are bond to call me crazy after reading this post and that's ok with me! Sometimes you just have to do something and call it good!

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

I asked this question in a blog post on July 7th. I pledged that I would do "something" for the first time before the month was over. I'm very proud to say, that I met my goal. What, you may ask, did I do? Let me tell you a story to explain.

The end of the month was drawing close and I didn't really have any good ideas for my "first". On the 26th, a friend called to invite us to a surprise birthday party for his wife, a dear friend of mine. Well of course, I'll be there. Where is there, by the way? The Grizzly Rose, was the reply.

The owners of The Grizzly Rose describe their establishment as a saloon and dance emporium. OK, that'll work. It's a country place that has food, beverages, music and a dance floor. We've never been there before, so in that sense, it was a "first". Just not a very exciting first.

We found a place to "park" our sizeable party and went to find some "grub". After eating some of our group took a line dance lesson (40 minutes on a very crowded dance floor), I passed on this option. Instead, Rich and I strolled around the "emporium". I saw a few posters that piqued my interest during our "tour"...Dueling Mechanic Bulls! BINGO! I found my first!

When the booth opened at 8pm, I was the first one in line! I didn't last long. I had 2 black and blue bruises, I was sore and shaking, but I don't regret a single moment of my fantastic ride! My heart was pumping and I felt alive. I'll probably NEVER do it again, but I can now check "mechanical bull riding" off of my bucket list! Yeeha!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention...

I paid $10 to get the t-shirt too! "I rode the bull at The Grizzly Rose!"
